Police hunt gang who tried to break into Lanarkshire home with shovel

Police are hunting a gang who tried to break into a Lanarkshire home with a shovel before fleeing the scene.

Officers are currently investigating a report of an attempted housebreaking that occurred at 3.10pm on January 28 at Beech Avenue, New Stevenston.

A Police Scotland spokesman told Lanarkshire Live : “It has been reported that three men dressed in black hoodies, black trousers with black snoods and red gloves attempted to break into a house on Beech Avenue by hitting and smashing the window with a shovel before making off.

“The suspects have been reported to have been within a black BMW 1 series that had been parked nearby.”

If anyone has any information that could help with the enquiry or identify any of the suspect males involved please contact police on 101 quoting the crime number ND02410122.
