Police are hunting for a driver who fled the scene after their car crashed into parked vehicles in Hexham.
Officers responded at 8.20am on Monday to reports of a vehicle crashing into “a number” of others on Corbridge Road, with emergency services on scene shortly after.
And though there have been no injuries reported, Northumbria Police now need to find the driver.
“The driver of the vehicle left the area prior to officers arriving, and searches are ongoing to locate them and establish the causes of the collision,” said a spokeswoman for the force.
“One lane is currently closed and police are on scene assisting with traffic management until the vehicles are recovered.”
Photographs from the scene show officers directing traffic around police cars, as traffic continues to build.
