Police hunt Edinburgh train passenger 'with Liverpool accent' after incident

Transport police have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with an incident on an Edinburgh train earlier this year.

Officers say they are keen to talk to the man, who was understood to have a Liverpudlian accent, regarding an undisclosed issue on the service between the capital’s Waverley Station and Airdrie on the evening of Monday, January 17.

Investigators are continuing their inquiries into the incident, which is thought to have taken place between 11:09pm and 11:30pm.

Officers are remaining tight-lipped about its nature, but have implored anyone with information on his identity or the man himself to come forward and assist in the probe.

The man, thought to be around 35 years of age, is described as being around 5' 7 or 5' 8 in height with short brown hair and “patchy, uneven stubble”.

He was said to be wearing a black padded style jacket with a hood and black jeans or trousers at the time of the incident.
