Police hunt driver after man in 80s injured in Tooting hit-and-run

Police are appealing for information following a hit-and-run collision in Tooting which left an elderly pedestrian injured.

Officers were called at approximately 6.30pm on Saturday, March 8, to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Welham Road, Tooting.

The pedestrian, a man in his eighties, was taken to hospital suffering injuries to his ankle. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene, and police enquiries to locate them remain ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information about the incident is urged to contact police by calling 101 or by posting on social media to ‘X’ @MetCC, quoting reference CAD2394/9March.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
