Merseyside Police have given an update on the man who was hit by a lorry while crossing the road.
Emergency services received a number of calls at 2.15pm on Wednesday, November 9, reporting a man was hit by a lorry on New Chester Road in Tranmere. Merseyside Police and the North West Ambulance Service scrambled to the scene, at the junction of Union Street, and found 68-year-old man seriously injured lying in the road.
An off duty paramedic was already at the scene and had started treating the man. A North West Air Ambulance landed at the scene a short time later.

The man was rushed to Aintree University Hospital with injured to his head, neck, back and limbs. Police have now confirmed the man remains in hospital in a serious condition.
The driver of the HGV stopped at the scene and is assisting with enquiries. Police are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation.
Detective Sergeant Andy Roper from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "If you witnessed this collision, or were passing and may have captured any dashcam footage, please come forward so we can understand the circumstances of what took place.”
