Police have given an update on the condition of a man who was hit by a bus.
Emergency services were called to Stanley Road, Bootle at around 10.20am on Monday, April 3. A pedestrian in his 60s had been hit by a bus near Bootle New Strand Shopping Centre.
He was taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not life-threatening. The driver stopped at the scene and assisted police with enquiries. Today, Merseyside Police confirmed the man remains in a serious condition in hospital.

The road was closed for hours as police dealt with the incident. A significant cordon stretched from the Barclays bank to Stanley Road's junction with Vermont Way.
While the cordon was in place, officers focused their inquiries on the bus which had stopped within it and the pavement. The cordon was lifted and the road reopened at around 2pm.
