A Porsche driver who is believed to have knocked a man down in North Lanarkshire has been found by police.
The 41-year-old pedestrian is fighting for his life in hospital after being mowed down at around 5.35pm on Thursday in Airdrie.
He was rushed to Monklands Hospital for treatment for his 'life-threatening' injuries.
Emergency services subsequently then transferred him to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he remains in a critical condition.
The incident happened on Forrest Street, near to its junction with Colston Road.
The dark soft-top Porsche involved stopped at the scene but did not speak to cops.
This sparked a probe into the smash as detectives appealed for the driver.
Now the car and driver in connection with the incident have been traced.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers have now traced the car and driver involved in a collision with a pedestrian around 5.35pm on Thursday, 10 February.
“Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
