Man 'who doesn't usually travel far from home' found after frantic police search

A man has been traced after a frantic police search.

An operation went underway to trace Ryan Cooper, who vanished from his home in Uphall, West Lothian, yesterday (Friday, May 6).

Police said that they were "extremely concerned" for the 26-year-old's wellbeing.

He vanished at 12.50pm and was last seen wearing a black top and trousers.

At the time, Inspector Kate Blundell of Livingston Police Station said: “We are extremely concerned for Ryan’s wellbeing and we want to trace him as soon as possible to ensure that he is safe and well.

“He frequents the Uphall and Broxburn areas and does not usually travel far from home.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Ryan or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact officers through 101 with reference 1550 of May 6.”

Police Scotland have since confirmed that Ryan has been traced safe and well.

A statement reads: "We can confirm that Ryan Cooper, 26, reported missing from Uphall, West Lothian has been traced safe and well.

"Thank you to everyone who shared and responded to our appeal."
