Update: South Wales Police have confirmed that Alun Mathias has been safely found.
Police are "extremely concerned" for a missing elderly man who was last seen outside a hospital. Alun Mathias was last seen walking outside Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda Hospital in Llwynypia, Tonypandy, at 1pm on Tuesday, April 19.
Mr Mathias, 76, is described as white, 5ft 2 and with balding, grey hair. South Wales Police shared a CCTV video of him on social media, in which he is wearing glasses, a white t-shirt, dark trousers, and brown shoes, and carrying a brown jacket. You can read all our Tonypandy news here .
South Wales Police said: "Alun Mathias was last seen outside Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda Hospital at 1pm today [Tuesday, April 19). Alun is described as white, 5ft 2 with balding, grey hair. He was last seen wearing what is shown in the CCTV video: glasses, dark trousers, a white t-shirt, brown shoes and a brown jacket. We are extremely concerned for his welfare. Anyone who believes they may have seen Alun is urged to contact police quoting reference 2200128664."
