Police explain heavy presence in Clifton as cordon set-up in residential street

Police have explained the reason behind a heavy presence and cordon in Clifton earlier this week. The force were spotted just after 8am at Havenwood Rise in Clifton just after 8am on Monday, May 16.

An eyewitness told Nottinghamshire Live: "We tried to leave for school in Chilwell at 8.25am and they were still there at 2pm." They added that there were around seven police cars as well as three police vans at the scene.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police confirmed they were in the area looking for a missing person as part of an ongoing investigation. The cordon has since been lifted and police are no longer present in the street.
