A brave police dog stepped into action at the weekend.
Obi, along with his handler PC Mutter, had just come off a call when they received a report of two men fighting with bladed weapons in Mason Street, Motherwell on Sunday, August 14.
The first on the scene, PC Mutter shouted a warning and when the men allegedly continued to fight, Obi went into action.
One of the men immediately gave up and lay on the ground.
The other man quickly realised that PD Obi would be onto him next and also lay on the ground.
Obi stood guard while his handler took the men into custody, thereby stopping them from further injuring each other and possibly hurting anyone who intervened.
Two men aged 26 and 32 were arrested and charged with serious assault.
