Police divers from the north west's underwater search team were spotted searching a lake following a tip-off.
Images released by Merseyside Police officers in Knowsley showed a number of divers searching the lake at Mill Dam Park, Kirkby on Monday, July 25. Posting on the police's social media pagesthe following day, officers assured people not to worry while divers worked at the lake.
Officers from the north west's under water search team assisted Merseyside Police in a search of the lake and island following a tip-off that items may have been stored there. The post also asked people to come forward if they know "any places where criminals may be storing drugs or weapons".

The full post from Merseyside Police said: "It wasn’t just the rain that got us soaking wet yesterday. Despite the heavy rain showers in Kirkby, you might have noticed a few bobbies swimming in the lake up at Mill Dam in Tower Hill.
"There is no need to worry, they haven’t lost the plot, it was the north west under water search team assisting in a search of the lake following information that items may be stored there or upon the island. If you know any places where criminals may be storing drugs or weapons, let us know. Rain or shine we’ll have a look."
