Ayrshire Police Division recorded 30 road traffic offences at last night's car cruise event in Irvine.
More than 2,000 petrol heads made their way to the Ayrshire coast yesterday for the annual 'summer smasher' car cruise.
The event was a success, with the majority of drivers causing no issues with police, officials confirmed today.
However, a small number were handed down fines or given warnings.
A total of 30 road traffic offenses were recorded; of which two were reported to the Procurator Fiscal; 18 were issued with fines and 10 were warned about the condition of their car or driving.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were in attendance at a pre-planned car meet in the streets in and around the Harbour Road area of Irvine during the evening of Sunday, July 31.
“There were an estimated 2,000 vehicles at the event and there were no issues with the vast majority of drivers.
“Overall, officers dealt with 30 road traffic offences. Of these, two drivers were reported to the procurator fiscal, 18 were issued with fixed penalty notices, and the remaining 10 were warned regarding the condition of their vehicles or the manner of their driving.”
