Police have taped off a road in Tameside tonight following a likely collision involving an elderly woman.
Emergency services were scrambled to Egmont Road, in Mossley, at around 5pm to reports of the crash. It is understood that the woman has been taken to hospital.
The road remains closed, with residents telling the Manchester Evening News it is likely to remain this way for 'most of the night'. The exact nature of the incident and any injuries is not yet known.

Bus services including the 350 have been forced to reroute around the incident, according to Stagecoach. In a tweet, the bus providers said: "Route 350. Emergency diversion due to police incident on Egmont Street, Mossley in both directions. Tue 13 Dec 17:00 until further notice."
Pictures from the scene show accident investigators present, with evidence markers on the road.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) have been contacted for comment.
