A woman has suffered serious injuries after falling from a bridge in Warrington.
Police set up a cordon in the early hours on Monday, June 12, after being called to reports of concern for the welfare of a woman. At the scene, at around 2.40am, on Liverpool Road, officers found a 21-year-old woman.
Cheshire police confirmed that the woman then fell from the bridge. She was taken to Warrington Hospital for treatment to a serious leg injury.
A spokesperson for the force, revealed that the case has been reported to the Independent Office for Police Conduct which is routine for an incident of this nature. Officers who were at the scene have all been offered support.

They said: "At around 2.40am on Monday 12 June officers were called to reports of concerns for the welfare of a 21-year-old woman in Warrington. Officers quickly attended the scene at Liverpool Road, Warrington, and engaged with the young woman.
"Despite their best efforts, the woman fell from the bridge, sustaining serious leg injuries and has been taken to Warrington Hospital for treatment.
"Officers who were at the scene have all been offered support and with any incident of this nature, this has been reported to the Independent Office for Police Conduct."
