A cordon has been put in place in Formby after police were called to reports of concerns for the safety of a woman.
Officers arrived at School Lane at around 6.30am on Thursday, October 6, after calls for concern. Emergency services, including paramedics, arrived and found a woman, in her 40s, outside on the road.
Police believe that the woman suffered a medical episode and she was taken to hospital by ambulance. A cordon is now in place on School Lane, between Church Road and Three Tuns Lane, while police deal with the incident.

The road is closed to traffic but people are being allowed to access nearby shops, including Waitrose. It is unknown how long the road is expected to remain closed for.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We were called to School Lane in Formby at 6.30am today, Thursday October 6 following reports of a concern for safety. Emergency services attended. A woman in her 40s was found outside on the road and is believed to have suffered a medical episode.
"She has been taken to hospital by ambulance. A cordon has been put in place while emergency services are at the scene."
