Police have confirmed human remains found at a property in Kudla earlier this week belong to missing man Steven Murphy, and have charged two men with murder.
Detectives discovered the remains on Tuesday afternoon in a six-metre-deep hole at the Ormsby Road property, north of Adelaide, after receiving a tip-off about missing northern suburbs man Steven Murphy.
Police today confirmed the remains belong to the 38-year-old, and later this afternoon said they had charged two men with murder.
A 46-year-old Kudla man has been charged with murder and concealing human remains.
He was already in custody over drugs and firearms offences, following the discovery of cannabis, a firearm and ammunition at the start of the search.
A 19-year-old Kudla man has also been arrested today and charged with murder.
Both men have been refused bail and have been remanded in custody to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
Major Crime detectives began searching the Kudla property on Sunday evening and on that day allegedly found 20 cannabis plants being grown hydroponically in a rear shed, as well as a .22 rifle and .22 ammunition, which police said were not securely stored.
The focus of the search was the rear of the property, where police said they found a recently excavated area and disturbance to the ground.
On Monday police said they were not aware of any links between Mr Murphy and the residents of the Kudla address, but said the investigation was still in its early stages.
