Police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances following a probe into the death of a baby in Lanarkshire last week.
Tragically, the eight-month old infant passed away suddenly on Friday, June 3.
Emergency services rushed to the home in Larkhall after a report was made of the baby being unresponsive in his cot.
Attempts were made to resuscitate him but sadly he could not be saved and was pronounced dead around 10.30am.
Cops launched a probe last week to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.
Today, Detective Inspector Rob Andrews provided an update on the matter.
He told Lanarkshire Live : "On Friday, June 3, we were called to an address in Larkhall following a report of unresponsive baby in a cot.
"Sadly, the eight-month-old baby boy could not be resuscitated and was pronounced dead at the scene.
"We have carried out our enquiries and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
"Our thoughts remain with his family and they have asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.”
