Police are becoming 'increasingly concerned' for the welfare of a missing pensioner with dementia. Barry Whitbread, 74, was last seen on Wednesday afternoon (December 28) at Cineworld in Warrington.
Cheshire Police have issued an urgent appeal for information following hours of searching for Barry to no avail. The 74-year-old suffers from dementia and can become confused, police added.
He lives in the Walton area of Warrington and was last seen at around 3.50pm on Wednesday at the Cineworld at Times Square. Barry is described as 5' 10" tall, with short grey hair and was last seen wearing black trousers, a navy-blue jumper and a green coat. He was also carrying a man bag.
Officers are urging anyone who sees Barry or has any information regarding his whereabouts to come forward and contact Cheshire Police as the search continues.
Inspector Michelle Boyd said: “Officers have been searching for Barry for several hours, so far to no avail, and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.
“I urge anyone who thinks that they may have seen Barry, or has any information in relation to his whereabouts, to get in touch with us. The same goes for anyone with video footage which may aid our investigation.”
Anyone with information or footage that may help officers find Barry is asked to call Cheshire Constabulary immediately on 101, quoting IML 1444687.
