Police concerned for welfare of missing Newport man

Police have appealed for help after a man from Newport was reported missing. Sam Gwilliam, aged 42, was last seen near his home address around Church Road, Newport at around 8.45pm on Friday, July 1.

Gwent Police have launched their appeal as they are concerned for Sam's welfare. He is described as having ginger hair with a beard.

Sam is believed to have been wearing dark jeans, a light knitted top, black trainers and carrying a black rucksack. The force has asked anyone with information to contact them. They have also appealed to Sam to reach out to confirm that he is safe and well should he see the appeal.

A spokesperson said: "We’re appealing for information to find Sam Gwilliam who has been reported as missing. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to call us on 101 or send us a direct message on social media, quoting log reference 2200220344. Sam is also urged to get in touch with us to confirm that he is safe and well."
