Merseyside Police closed a major road and scrambled a helicopter after reports of a man on the roof of a building.
Emergency services rushed to Lord Street in Southport on Monday, June 13 following reports of the concern for the safety of a man on the roof of the building. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were on scene at around 10.53pm and Merseyside Police closed Lord Street between Nevill street and Bold Street as a precaution.
Two fire engines attended as well as the search and rescue appliance and an aerial appliance. An extensive search of the roof and surrounding area was carried out.

Eyewitnesses reported a large emergency services presence including North West Ambulance Service in attendance. A police helicopter was also scrambled and carried out a search of the surrounding area but no person could be found.
Fire crews were stood down and left the scene at 12.19am. Lord Street was reopened shortly after.
