Police check nearly 150 vehicles on busy Nottinghamshire road in speeding operation

Police have checked the speeds of nearly 150 vehicles on a major road in Nottinghamshire. Officers from the Eastwood Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out the operation on Main Road in Watnall on Tuesday afternoon, July 26.

The force says a total of 143 speed checks were made while they were there to check that vehicles were sticking to the 30mph speed limit.

A spokesperson for Eastwood Police said: "Good Evening. Officers of Eastwood Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted speed checks on Main road Watnall earlier this afternoon. A total of 143 speed checks were made."

Last month, Eastwood Police carried out a speeding operation after complaints from residents in a number of areas - including Nottingham Road and Kimberley Road in Nuthall. The force stated that speeding "would not be tolerated" and that drivers found to be breaking the limits would be punished.
