Police charge 23-year-old man with murder over Tuart Hill death

A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder after a man's body was found in Perth's northern suburbs on Tuesday.

Bailey Jordan Lester has also been charged with attacking two other people on the same day.

It's understood Mr Lester was staying at an address on Lena St in Tuart Hill, where he allegedly attacked a 41-year-old man living in the same house.

A witness took the 41-year-old man to seek medical help, but when they returned, they found the body of 53-year-old Lachlan Harris.

It's alleged Mr Lester murdered Mr Harris.

The Perth Magistrates Court heard Mr Lester then went to neighbouring Royal Street, where he allegedly broke into a home, stole two knives, and stabbed a 60-year-old man who he didn't know.

Police were called to the scene on Royal Street, where they apprehended Mr Lester.

He has been charged with murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, harm with intent, and aggravated burglary.

He made a brief appearance in court to hear his charges, and was again remanded in custody.

Mr Lester was not required to enter a plea, and can only be granted bail by a judge of the Supreme Court after a full public hearing as he is facing a murder charge.

He is next due to appear at Stirling Garden's Magistrates Court on January 18 via video link.
