A police car was left wrecked after a crash with a tram in Oldham this morning.
The smash happened close to Manchester Street roundabout, near the Westwood Metrolink stop at around 6.45am. A Metrolink spokesperson confirmed that a tram and police car collided.
A picture taken at the scene showed the damaged police vehicle with a smashed-up bonnet. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said the officers in the car were uninjured.

The tram line between Oldham Mumps and Westwood was blocked after the incident as emergency services responded. Restrictions were also put in place on the Manchester Street roundabout following the crash.
Metrolink services on the Oldham line are now back to normal. A spokesperson for Metrolink said: "There was a collision involving a tram and police car between Oldham King Street and Westwood tram stops at about 6.45am.
"This resulted in no trams running between Oldham Mumps and Westwood while the incident was dealt with. Services resumed about an hour later."
