Police called as man 'walks into traffic'

Merseyside Police officers are scouring one area of Liverpool as they look for a man following a report of concern for safety.

A spokesperson for the force confirmed that officers were called by the North West Ambulance Service at around 8.25am today (Sunday, September 4) to Binns Road, off Rathbone Road in Old Swan after they received a report of a man "walking into traffic". It was also confirmed that a search is ongoing to find the man.

A video sent to the ECHO shows a number of police vehicles lining Rathbone Road with flashing lights on as officers can be seen walking around the area.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO: "We received reports at 8.25am over concern for safety. A man was reported to be walking into traffic and we received a call from the North West Ambulance Service. It is still ongoing to find the man."
