Police called after Lanarkshire car crash near school causes road closure

Police were called to the scene after a car crash in Lanarkshire at the weekend.

The single vehicle incident took place at Newton Station Road in Cambuslang on Sunday, near Hallside Primary school.

There were no injuries in the incident, which resulted in part of the road being closed for a spell.

Lanarkshire Live understands that a female failed a roadside breath test and will be reported for driving offences.

A police source told Lanarkshire Live: "We were made aware of a crash involving a single car on Newton Station Road in Cambuslang around 6.50pm on Sunday, 15 January.

"There were no reported injuries."
