Police called after car rolls off end of slipway in Gourock

Gourock Police

POLICE were called to Gourock today after a vehicle rolled off of a slipway at Cardwell Bay.

Officers received reports of the incident on Cove Road at around 4:35pm this afternoon.

Images from the scene show a grey car hanging off the edge of the ramp having made contact with rocks at the edge of the water.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Greenock Telegraph that the vehicle rolled towards the water and that nobody was in it at the time.

Recovery of the car is currently being arranged.
