Police say they are aware of a video circulating on social media appearing to show a man in a wheelchair being attacked outside a bar on the Waterfront in Bristol. Officers have launched an investigation despite confirming that the attack has not yet been officially reported to them.
Bristol Live approached Avon and Somerset Police after being sent the video, which shows a man in a wheelchair being 'punched' and knocked to the ground. The incident happened close to the BSB bar on the Waterfront, which is shown in the footage, and officers would like to identify the individuals captured in the video.
The video, which police say has been 'viewed widely', has sparked an appeal from the force and they are asking anyone with information to contact them quoting the reference number at the bottom of this article. Officers also visited the venue and area today (March 20) to make enquiries.

A police spokesperson told Bristol Live: "We’re aware of a video circulating on social media which shows an incident on the Waterfront in Bristol. The incident has not yet been reported to the police, but an investigation is under way."
Inspector Adam Dolling said: “The video has been circulated and viewed widely and it’s important we identify the people in the footage. We believe it happened close to the BSB bar on the Waterfront and we’re making enquiries at the venue and in the surrounding area today.
“We’d ask anyone with information to come forward as soon as possible We haven’t been able to clarify when this incident happened."
