Police at scene as two cars crash on Formby Bypass roundabout

Police have been called to the scene of a crash after two cars ended up on a traffic island in a smash on a bypass roundabout.

Dramatic video footage and pictures captured by the ECHO's Andy Teebay shows the aftermath of the crash this morning.

A Peugeot and Renault car were involved in the crash on the Formby Bypass.

Police were called to the crash opposite the Esso garage at 6.50am and were there for more than an hour.

The cars had mounted the roundabout and were facing each other.

The Renault was been left with a crumpled front with part of its bumper hanging off while the driver's side of the Peugeot was caved in.
