Police ask for help to trace missing 80-year-old Newry man

Police in Newry are concerned for the whereabouts of an 80-year-old man who has gone missing from the Ballymartin area. They are appealing for help in tracing Sam McAtee, who they describe as white, approximately 6ft in height, clean shaven and with short grey hair.

He was last seen in the Ballymartin area but has also been linked to the Gosford/Tandragee area of Armagh. He is thought to be driving a red Ford Puma vehicle.

Police have appealed for anyone who has seen Sam to contact them by calling 101 and quoting reference 2126 of 08/02/2023.

Police Newry, Mourne & Down said on Facebook: "Police in Newry are concerned for the whereabouts of the following Missing Person: Sam McAtee, 80 years old, from the Ballymartin area. Sam is a white male, approximately 6ft in height, clean shaven with short grey hair.

"He was last seen in the Ballymartin area but has also been linked to the Gosford / Tandragee area of Armagh. He is thought to be driving a red Ford Puma vehicle. If anyone has seen Sam or has any information as to his whereabouts then please contact Police on 101, quoting reference 2126 of 08/02/2023."
