The son of missing Gold Coast woman Wendy Sleeman has been arrested as police continue their search for the 61-year-old.
Slade Murdok, 30, was found in Inala in Brisbane's south-west late on Wednesday afternoon.
Ms Sleeman went missing from her Elanora home on Tuesday in suspicious circumstances.
Police last heard from Ms Sleeman on Tuesday afternoon when she reported her house had been broken into and her security system disconnected and stolen.
Officers were called to the Ironbark Street home just after 3:30pm where they found blood and and a doormat on fire.
Ms Sleeman was nowhere to be found.
On Wednesday afternoon, police divers began searching a lake behind Ms Sleeman's house, recovering a knife and parts of a CCTV recording system.
Police had earlier said they had grave concerns for Ms Sleeman, after finding "clear signs of violence", including a large amount of blood.
Regional Crime Coordinator Detective Superintendent Brendan Smith said the woman's disappearance was out of character.
"It's very important that police receive community assistance," he said.
