Police appeal launched after Dumbarton man killed in Cardross Road incident

A pedestrian who died following a crash in Cardross has been named by police.

Alan Baker, 42, died in hospital on Monday, July 11 after the incident on the A814.

Emergency services attended the scene, which involved a white Skoda Fabia, at about 11.20pm on Sunday, July 10.

Mr Baker was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

Police Scotland said inquiries were ongoing and appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.

Sergeant Lloyd Caven, of the road policing unit said: “Our thoughts are with Alan’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.

“I am appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and who saw what happened to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who may have dash-cam footage which could assist our investigation to get in touch.”
