Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a pensioner was fatally hit by a car in Uddingston.
The 79-year-old pedestrian was struck around 11am on Wednesday while on Glasgow Road at Belmont Avenue.
Emergency services rushed to the scene but the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a white Audi was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and released pending further enquiries.
Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
Road Policing Sergeant Scott Gourlay said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash. The B7071 is one of the main routes in and out of Uddingston and is a busy stretch of road so I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened.
“I’m also appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time who has relevant dash-cam or CCTV footage, to get in touch on 101 quoting incident number 1105 of Wednesday, 17 May.”
