Police appeal after man, 50, reported missing from East Lothian town

UPDATE: Police Scotland confirmed David Morton, 50, who was reported missing from Prestonpans, was traced safe and well on Monday morning.

A 50-YEAR-OLD man has been reported missing over the weekend from a town in East Lothian.

Police Scotland is appealing for information to help trace David Morton, who disappeared in the Preston Crescent area of Prestonpans around 7.15 pm on Sunday, January 5. The police described him as 6ft 2in tall, with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a thin bright blue puffer jacket, jeans and walking boots.

Inspector Ross Blair said: “As time passes concerns are growing for David’s welfare and we are appealing for anyone who has seen David or who has knowledge of his whereabouts to contact us.” Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 2823 of 5 January, 2025.
