Police have confirmed that missing Gateshead teenager Katie Smith has been found safe and well.
Katie Smith, 16, was reported missing shortly before 10:30pm on Friday (May 26). Northumbria Police issued an appeal and asked anybody who had seen Katie to contact them immediately.
On Saturday afternoon, they confirmed the good news that she had been found saying: "We’re pleased to update that missing Gateshead teenager Katie has been located safe and well."
