Lancashire Police are appealing for "anyone with information" to come forward after a man came off his bike and suffered injuries.
Yesterday paramedics were called to Sugar Stubbs Lane in Banks at 11.59am. The air ambulance was scrambled to the playing fields of King George V Sixth Form College, to assist.
Officers had to step in when a group of children playing football refused to move to allow the air ambulance to land. Police then attended to keep the playing fields clear while the air ambulance landed to help the cyclist, who is believed to have suffered a medical episode.
