Police appeal as man attempts to enter cars in Downpatrick

Police have issued an appeal as "suspicious activity" was sighted in part of Co Down on Friday.

In the early hours of the morning on Friday, April 1, a report was made that a male was seen entering a car in the Ballymote Walk area.

Between the hours of 5am and 6am, it was reported that he attempted to gain access to other cars parked nearby.

CCTV footage seen by Belfast Live appears to show him attempting to enter a property in the area.

The man is described as being of slim build, wearing a grey tracksuit, and a baseball cap.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 81 03/04/22.

"Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org."
