Police appeal after near 'naked woman' seen walking around Lanarkshire streets

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was seen wandering the streets of Hamilton with "little to no clothing or footwear" on in the early hours of Monday morning.

Officers responded to a call after a member of the public reported seeing the female in the Avonbank Crescent and Silvertonhill Avenue areas at around 4am on June 27.

Despite extensive searches, officers have been unable to trace the woman.

Inspector Gail Nicol told Lanarkshire Live: “We are concerned for the welfare of the woman and would encourage anyone who may have seen her to get in touch with officers.

“We would also urge the woman herself to contact us to let us know whether she is safe and well.

“Anyone with information should contact police on 101.”

Information can also be shared anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
