Police appeal after man repeatedly punched in the face in Newark pub

Police have released a picture of a man they are looking to speak to after another man was punched in the face at least 7 times.

A 49-year-old man was repeatedly hit in the face during the assault, which happened in the White Hind pub, in Carter Gate, Newark.

The attack is thought to have taken place following a dispute with another man in the pub, at around 8.35pm on November 28, 2021.

CCTV filmed inside the venue shows a man who police want to speak to in connection with the incident.

The man is described as white, around 5ft 11ins tall, of medium build, with short brown hair.

He was wearing a green or khaki coloured jacket.

Police Constable Anthea Brotheridge, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our understanding is that the pub was quite busy when this incident took place, so there is a strong chance that someone will recognise the man pictured from CCTV.

“If you do know this man, if you witnessed the assault take place, or if you have any more information that could assist us with our enquiries, I’d ask that you please contact the police, quoting incident number 612 on 28 November 2021.”
