Police appeal after man is assaulted by group of youths in Strathclyde Park

Police in Lanarkshire are on the hunt for a group of youths who stole assaulted a man before stealing his bicycle.

Officers are appealing for information following the incident in Strathclyde Park on Saturday, April 1.

Around 9pm, a 45-year-old man was cycling in the park near to the rocky boulders and footpath leading to Watling Street, Motherwell when he was subject to an unprovoked attack and had his bike stolen by a group of male and female youths.

The man attended hospital and was treated for minor injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything or who has any information to contact 101, quoting incident number 3918 of 1 April 2023.”
