Police appeal after man hit on head with bottle after being chased from party in Newcastle

Police are appealing for information after a man was struck in the head with a bottle, leaving him with a deep head wound.

The victim was celebrating Lunar New Year at a private party on the evening of January 21, when he was chased from the event at Northumbria University’s student union, Newcastle, by two other males at roughly 11.30pm.

It was then that one of the males allegedly threw a bottle at the victim, causing a laceration to his head, and fled before emergency services arrived.

Northumbria Police have launched an investigation and are now appealing for public help.

A spokesman for the force said: “We have issued the image of a man who was in the area at the time and might have information which can help. Anyone who recognises the man or thinks they might have seen what happened, is asked to get in touch.”

You can contact Northumbria Police via their website, quoting crime reference 8241G/23.
