Police and forensics investigate call of remains found in Toryglen field beside care home

Police forensics investigated a call made yesterday by a member of the public who reportedly found human remains in a grass field in Toryglen.

Police were made aware of remains having been found in Prospecthill Circus beside Orchard Grove Residential Care Home at around 4.40pm on Tuesday, May 16.

A small crowd had gathered across the road on looking at the taped-off scene, with curious residents looking out their windows and taking to Facebook to try and find out what happened.

One Facebook user wrote: “Has anyone any idea what’s happened just as you come into our estate? It’s all taped off by the police.”

Forensics took photos of the evidence (UGCRSR)

Another responded: “Just came by there and there’s two police and three guys in white forensic suits.”

Despite the initial panic, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing, but the remains are believed to be that of an animal.”

Lanarkshire Live understand that the police believe the remains to be that of a deer.
