A 50-year-old Cook man who allegedly made threats to kill a woman known to him, then assaulted police who attended his house on Monday night, will face the ACT Magistrates Court.
About 6.30pm on Monday, the woman received multiple calls from the 50-year-old via a social media app.
During the communications, the man allegedly began making numerous threats to kill her.
She went to Tuggeranong Police Station a short time later to report the incident.
Late on Monday night, police went to the man's house.
Police allege that when they spoke to him, the man grabbed hold of the door and attempted to retreat and barricade himself inside.
Police were able to gain entry and make an arrest, when the alleged offender punched an officer in the chest, and kicked out at several others in an attempt to escape.
The man was arrested and charged with using a carriage service to threaten to kill, assaulting a frontline community service provider, and resisting police.
