Poland midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak has labelled Steven Gerrard as Liverpool's greatest-ever player amid reports that the former Reds captain could take charge of the national team.
Last week, reports suggested that the Polish Football Association had approached the former Rangers and Aston Villa manager over their vacancy as head coach.
It was said that representatives of the former midfielder and the international team ranked 22nd in the FIFA World Rankings had entered talks. The position has been up for grabs since it was decided that Czeslaw Michniewicz's contract would not be extended.

Polish outlet Meczyki claimed that the Poland Football Federation contacted Gerrard about taking over as their new manager. Now, the uncertainty over who will succeed Michniewicz has taken a new direction after a tweet from the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder.
In response to a tweet asking who Liverpool's greatest-ever player is, the 32-year-old replied: "Steven Gerrard.
"*I may have benefits from this compliment in the future, who knows."
Potentially a clever move from the veteran if he wants to maintain his place in the national team setup and add to his 98 caps.
The latest report surrounding Gerrard and the Poland job suggested that he was considering the move. Fabrizio Romano said: "Discussions between Steven Gerrard and Poland are ongoing. [They are] Waiting for his final decision but it’s being considered, as reported by Polish press earlier in the week.
"Polish FA will speak again to Gerrard in order to proceed with discussions."
It would be a fast turnaround for the midfielder who played over 700 appearances for the Reds, captaining them as well as England, after he was relieved of his duties at Villa Park in October.
Should he move into international football for his third management role, his first match in charge would come during the March internationals where they face the Czech Republic and Albania.
