Despite Badosa's efforts to rally back by winning the second-set tiebreaker, Swiatek dominated the third set with a break advantage of 8-3, securing Poland's spot in the quarterfinals against the Czech Republic.
The match was briefly interrupted in the third set due to a 'medical incident' among spectators inside the Palacio de Deportes.
Swiatek credited the importance of Magda Linette's earlier win in setting the stage for their team's success. Linette battled for nearly four hours to defeat Sara Sorribes in a hard-fought match, hitting more winners but also committing more unforced errors.
Meanwhile, Slovakia emerged victorious against the United States, and Japan triumphed over Romania in other matches. The competition was initially delayed by two days due to heavy rain and flooding in Malaga, with authorities on high alert following recent deadly flash floods in the region.
The Billie Jean King Cup Finals and the upcoming Davis Cup Finals are being held concurrently at the same venue in Malaga. Tennis legend Rafael Nadal was seen training for the men's competition, which he has announced will be his final tournament before retirement.
This year marks the first time that the women's team tournament is being held alongside the Davis Cup, with both events offering equal prize money for the second consecutive year.
