Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Inteleon raid: Possible movesets and counters

While Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are returning to Tera Raids at the start of next week, this weekend we’ll have another 7-star raid event to keep us busy. Dipping once again into the bag of starter Pokémon from past generations, we have Inteleon coming at us this weekend. While it isn’t the toughest-looking Pokémon, the right moveset could make Inteleon a force to be reckoned with.

We’ve put together our best estimates for Inteleon’s moveset and have prepared some counters for different scenarios.

7-star Inteleon moveset – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Inteleon has quite a wide movepool, meaning there are a lot of possibilities. However, with the Ice Tera-type and Sniper hidden ability, we can narrow it down a little.

Snowscape seems like a near-certainty, as it’ll give a healthy boost to any ice move that it throws our way. Ice Beam would be more reliable, but these 7-star raid Pokémon have never been afraid to go for the riskier and more powerful moves, so Blizzard it is.

Then we have Sniper, which ups the damage of critical hits quite significantly. Expect to see Snipe Shot and potentially Air Cutter in its arsenal, as both have an increased critical hit rate. While Inteleon isn’t a physical attacker, a move like Air Cutter could take care of any Fighting-types coming to the battle.

Here’s the set we think is most likely:

The Mightiest Inteleon – Level 100

  • Nature – Rash
  • Ability – Sniper
  • Item – None
  • Tera type – Ice

Potential moveset – Snowscape, Blizzard, Snipe Shot, Air Cutter, Chilling Water, Dark Pulse, Haze

Tinkaton – Inteleon counters – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Ice is one of the worst defensive types in the game, which is extremely useful for this raid, but Inteleon’s wide movepool makes Steel one of the only viable options.

Tinkaton is an obvious choice in this regard. Gigaton Hammer is a ridiculously powerful move with entirely workable limitations. Backing it up with moves like Light Screen, Thunder Wave, and Helping Hand make the turns where you can’t use Gigaton Hammer very useful indeed.

Tinkaton – Level 100

  • Nature – Careful
  • Ability – Mold Breaker
  • Item – Shell Bell
  • Tera type – Steel
  • Potential moveset – Gigaton Hammer, Light Screen, Thunder Wave, Helping Hand

Corviknight – Inteleon counters – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Corviknight has proved useful in quite a few of these raids. Steel covers its Ice weakness, leaving it with the bulk to stay on the field. With a solidly built Corviknight you can take your time to set up one powerful strike to take Inteleon out.

Corviknight – Level 100

  • Nature – Careful
  • Ability – Mirror Armor
  • Item – Shell Bell
  • Tera type – Steel
  • Potential moveset – Light Screen, Screech, Swagger, Iron Head

Perrserker – Inteleon counters – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

We hope you’ve spoken to your teacher so you can get the hidden Perrseker in Scarlet and Violet, because it may just be your golden ticket in this raid, as its ability, Battle Armor, makes it immune to critical hits.

Yet another Steel-type, Perrserker has a bunch of utility moves that make it just about viable. Amnesia can give it high special defense while it lowers Inteleon’s stats with Screech and boosts its attack with Swords Dance.

Then, if you’re planning to take Perrserker into a multiplayer raid, Helping Hand is always appreciated.

Perrserker – Level 100

  • Nature – Careful
  • Ability – Battle Armor
  • Item – Shell Bell
  • Tera type – Steel
  • Potential moveset – Iron Head, Screech, Amnesia, Swords Dance or Helping Hand

Gholdengo – Inteleon counters – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Oh, would you look at that, another Steel-type. There’s one very clear strategy in this raid, it seems.

Where the other Pokémon can all be used as great supportive sets, Gholdengo is all about power, getting set up before blasting through Inteleon in an instant. A special attacker with a beastly signature move in Make it Rain, it can run a Nasty Plot set to make up for the special attack drops the move inflicts.

The only thing you’ve got to worry about is a potential Dark Pulse from Inteleon, but if Terastalize quickly, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Gholdengo – Level 100

  • Nature – Calm
  • Ability – Good as Gold
  • Item – Shell Bell
  • Tera type – Steel
  • Potential moveset – Nasty Plot, Light Screen, Metal Sound, Make it Rain

Crabominable – Inteleon counters – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

See? We do know how to pick non-Steel-types. Ironically Ice is a pretty good type for this raid, as it negates a lot of the super effective damage that could come your way. In this case, the Ice-type negates the super effective Flying damage that would normally hit a Fighting-type. On top of that, Snowcape, which Inteleon will likely have, will boost Crabominable’s defense too.

Amnesia and Bulk Up will keep it strong, but all you really need to do is find the right time to let loose with Reversal and Close Combat.

Crabominable – Level 100

  • Nature – Careful
  • Ability – Anger Point
  • Item – Shell Bell
  • Tera type – Ice
  • Potential moveset – Amnesia, Bulk Up, Substitute, Reversal, Close Combat
