The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet 7-star Hisuian Samurott Raid is just around the corner, giving us a chance to nab a high-level Pokemon you can’t normally find in Paldea. Hisuian Samurott has a slight edge over its Unova counterpart with Water and Dark dual-typing and stronger attacks. You’ll need to balance striking hard with playing it safe and keeping your team healthy during this fight, even with the right counters. The task might seem daunting, but we’ve put together a strong team of capable fighters to help see you through.

7-Star Tera Raid Hisuian Samurott stats, moves, and ability
Here’s what to expect when you start the Hisuian Samurott Tera Raid.
Hisuian Samurott the Unrivaled: Level 100
- Nature: Adamant
- Ability: Sharpness
- Item: None
- Tera type: Water
Hisuian Samurott move set
Like other 7-star Raid Pokemon, Hisuian Samurott is packing more than four moves.
- Ceaseless Edge
- X-Scissor
- Aqua Cutter
- Sacred Sword
- Air Slash
- Swords Dance
Hisuian Samurott’s Sharpness ability gives slicing moves : X-Scissor, Ceaseless Edge, and so on : a 50 percent power buff. Unsurprisingly, it uses quite a few of these moves, and they vary in elemental types. That said, Aqua Cutter is the one to keep an eye on. Not only will it get a STAB and Tera typing boost, but when you throw Sharpness in as well, it turns into a 210 base attack move.
Best counters for Hisuian Samurott
That kind of type coverage makes countering Hisuian Samurott a challenge, but we’ve come up with a few ways to take it down. The most important factor in the Hisuian Samurott fight is just holding out against its barrage of attacks, though you need to dish out plenty of damage on your own as well.
Here’s what we recommend.
Miraidon
- Level 100
- Nature: Bold
- Ability: Hadron Engine
- Item: Big Root
- Tera type: Electric
Miraidon move set:
- Calm Mind
- Parabolic Charge
- Electro Drift
- Charge
Grass and Electric are Water’s only weaknesses, and since Hisuian Samurott doesn’t have any Ground- or Ice-type moves, we can use Miraidon without worry. Miraidon has some handy tricks up its non-existent sleeves to boost Electric power, including its Hadron Engine ability and the Charge move. ways to boost its Electric-type attacks. Electro Drift is exceptionally powerful against fragile enemies like Samurott, and Parabolic Charge recovers some of Miraidon’s health while dealing Electric damage.
Calm Mind is there in case you need to bump Miraidon’s special attack up further. You probably won’t have to, but it’s nice to have just in case.
Clodsire
- Level 100
- Nature: Impish
- Ability: Water Absorb
- Item: Leftovers
- Tera type: Poison
Clodsire move set:
- Mud Slap
- Chilling Water
- Helping Hand
- Acid Spray
Clodsire won’t take Samurott down in one hit, but it does have an excellent moveset for this raid. Most of Samurott’s attacks have a chance of missing, and Mud Slap makes that chance even bigger. Chilling Water drops Samurott’s ridiculously high attack through the barrier, and if paired with a great special attacker like Miraidon, you can use Acid Spray to drop special defenses and let your heavy hitter go to work.
Helping Hand doubles your teammates’ attack, and Water Absorb negates Aqua Cutter entirely.
Alolan Ninetales
- Level 100
- Nature: Bold
- Ability: Snow Warning
- Item: Light Clay
- Tera type: Ice
Alolan Ninetails move set:
- Aurora Veil
- Charm
- Freeze Dry
- Nasty Plot
Snow Warning will automatically boost Ninetales’ defense once it enters battle, and Aurora Veil – one of the best support moves in recent Pokemon games – reduces the damage Nintetales and co. take. Freeze Dry is the rare Ice-type move that will deal super-effective damage on the Water-type Samurott, and Nasty Plot raises Ninetales’ special damage output. Charm is an easy way to drop Samurott’s attack by two levels to give your team a fighting chance.
Iron Hands
- Level 100
- Nature: Impish
- Ability: Quark Drive
- Item: Big Root
- Tera type: Electric Terrain
Iron Hands move set:
- Drain Punch
- Belly Drum
- Electric Terrain
- Thunder Punch/Wild Charge
Iron Hands is a raid staple for good reason, and Hisuian Samurott is an easy target for the futuristic take on Hariyama. Iron Hands has monstrous HP and Defense stats, and it resists two of Samurott’s main attack types, Water and Dark. Belly Drum makes it very powerful, and it can use Drain Punch to get its health back. Thunder Punch is the main damage dealer here, but if your Iron Hands is surviving well, you can aim for the harder-hitting Wild Charge.
