To celebrate the first time that Pokémon Go will appear in the Pokémon World Championships, legendary Pokémon, Zamazenta, is now available in five star Raids, starting today, Aug. 18, until the end of the month.
This is the Hero variant of Zamazenta and, unfortunately, it is not possible to land a shiny. While it’s a hard ‘mon to take down. It does have a few weaknesses that you can exploit: Flying, Psychic and Fairy. Here are the Pokémon and moves we recommend taking into these raids.
Best Zamazenta raid counters in Pokémon Go
- Mewtwo – Psycho Cut, Psystrike
- Mega-Latios – Zen Headbutt, Psychic
- Hoopa (Unbound) – Confusion, Psychic
- Mega-Pidgeot – Gust, Brave Bird.
- Mega-Latias – Zen Headbutt, Psychic.
- Moltres – Wing Attack, Sky Attack
- Galarian-Articuno – Psycho Cut, Brave Bird
- Mega-Gengar – Lick, Psychic
- Hoopa (Bound) – Confusion, Psychic

Zamazenta is available to battle in different gyms all over the world at a whopping 52,195 CP, but will be between 2,100 and 2,735 CP when captured. It is a pure Fighting-type in its hero form, and you are likely to get more powerful ‘mons in cloudy weather.
We recommend a team of at least three players around level 40 with counters, if you want to take this legend down. If you’re not at this level yet, then we recommend you team up with more players.
