"Pokémon Go" has launched the newest Karrablast and Shelmet Community Day on Sunday, Feb. 9, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (local time). For bug catchers and collectors, this event is the perfect opportunity to add two new bugs to your collection.
Last time, we featured Shiny Nymble and Lokix, two newest bug-type Pokemon introduced first on "Scarlet and Violet."
How to Catch Shiny Karrablast and Shelmet in 'Pokémon Go'

As with previous Community Days, shiny Karrablast and Shelmet will have a boosted appearance rate. Based on past research from the now-defunct Silph Road, the shiny encounter rate is approximately 1 in 24.
To maximize your shiny hunt, follow these strategies, according to Polygon.
- Use Incense and Lure Modules to attract more Pokémon.
- Quick-check each spawn by tapping and running to identify shinies faster.
- Prioritize high-IV Pokémon by checking their stats before evolving.
Exclusive Community Day Moves for Escavalier and Accelgor
Trainers who evolve Karrablast into Escavalier during the event will receive the charged move, Razor Shell. Likewise, Shelmet will evolve into Accelgor and get Energy Ball as the charged move. These moves will be available only on Feb. 9 at 2:00 p.m. until Feb. 16 at 10:00 p.m.
Did you miss the evolution window? You can still obtain these moves using an Elite Charged TM or by evolving them during a December Community Day weekend event.
How Viable Are Escavalier and Accelgor in Pokémon Go Battles?
Escavalier in PvE and PvP
In raids and gym battles, Escavalier is a solid Bug-type attacker with Bug Bite & Megahorn. While not the top choice, it holds its own in specific matchups.
In PvP, Escavalier can be a niche pick with Razor Shell but doesn't currently dominate any major metas.
Accelgor in PvE and PvP
Accelgor doesn't have much strong PvE viability.
In PvP it's a bit of a loser due to its low bulk, but potential moves will give it better usability, perhaps.

Pro Tips to Maximize Your Community Day Experience
