Richard Osman has revealed he has filmed his last ever episode of Pointless, keeping his exit a secret from everyone apart from co-star and close friend Alexander Armstrong.
It was earlier this year, that much loved BBC personality took to Twitter to reveal he was quitting the job which has seen him be a constant presence on TV for well over a decade, as Pointless airs in the teatime slot on BBC1, up against popular ITV show The Chase.
Breaking the news, Richard, who assured viewers he'd still be on screen in House of Games, wrote: ""After 12 wonderful years I'm leaving daytime Pointless, to concentrate on writing. Will still be doing the celebrity shows and 'House Of Games'. It has been the GREATEST pleasure and I can't wait to start watching as a viewer. Thank you to everyone!"
He added: "Will miss the whole team, especially the incomparable @XanderArmstrong. Thank you to everyone who watches, it really has been a dream, and I know the show will continue to go from strength to strength."

And now Richard has some more bad news fio fans as he's confirmed that the episode of Pointless that went out on Wednesday, July 20 was his last.
Returning to Twitter, Richard wrote: "I will still be on screen for a while in repeats, but yesterday was my final ever episode of daytime #Pointless after 12 years. Only Xander and I knew that at time of recording, so I wanted to give him a heartfelt message. New episodes with new hosts will be with in September!"
In the aftermath of Richard issuing a statement on his departure earlier this year, BBC bosses announced that, rather than recruiting a new full time host, they'd be welcoming a string of guest hosts into the Pointless studio in Richard's place.
